Josh?

Is this Josh?

In short, no, it’s not Josh – it’s a kid from the new Santander advert. I took the photo of my TV, but it looks so much like Josh, I got a little bit scared.

Anyway – more pressing news… Today is Josh’s 21st Birthday!

Josh started out as a shy, retiring guitarist with little more on his mind than Van Halen. After years of nurturing him, educating his tastes with more varied and eclectic styles of music, he still has little more in his mind than Van Halen, but this time there’s a few other legendary guitarists in there too. His style has changed over the years, becoming more sensitive with his playing, but he’s still all about the guitar.

There’s not much to add about our guitarist other than to say that he’s a great guy, if a little shy at times, he’s a great musician and great fun to have around! Enough gushing!

All the best mate! See you in the pub tomorrow.

Dance to our songs!

After our last gig, we’ve sat in the Wheatsheaf and thought that we need to cover some new songs. We’ve got a few songs in our repertoire that are a bit old now, so we could do with spring cleaning our setlist.

This is where you folks come in.

What song keeps you dancing all night? What’s your ‘oh, go on then, I’ll have a dance’ song? Let us know in the comments, by email or on Facebook. We’re eager to get out there and do some more gigging, so we’d like to get the song choice right!

So after weeks of tension and much activity on iTunes, amazon and the like, Delirious? got to number 4 in the UK charts!
While it wasn’t as big an acheivement as most people wanted, a number four is a great acheivement for a campaign that was really nothing to do with chart positions. The campaign was to raise awareness of the whole point of Easter, and while Radio 1 were suitably coy about the nature of the facebook group, it should have sparked enough interest to bring people to ask questions about God.
Well done to all those who parted with their cash to buy the song, and well done to Delirious? and congratulations on the chart success! And for those of you that need a little gratification – Martin Smith has this to say to all that supported the cause.
Makes me wonder what Facebook will promote next.

We’re really proud to be able to support this campaign to get a Christian Song at No1 for Easter 2010!

We’ve all downloaded the track, and we think you should too!

The Invadetheairwaves group were calling on British fans to download the track in an attempt to get Delirious? back into the charts and now the band’s record labels Furious? Records and Kingsway Music have announced that two versions of the ‘History Maker‘ single will be available for download-only between 28th March and 3rd April 2010. Fans will be able to choose between the original studio version or the live version taken from the band’s up and coming live album release Farewell Show, due out on 19th April.

Inspired by the fact that the power of social networking managed to put Rage Against The Machine at the top of the charts last Christmas, the Facebook campaign hopes to get a profoundly Christian song in the news and up the charts at Easter. More than 26,000 people have now joined the Facebook group and Kingsway’s press office said “Delirious? have always been about the fans” and that will never change. So we’re pleased to do all we can to support them as they continue to wave the flag for a generation. We wish the fans every success.”

Delirious? will be donating all their profits from the UK downloads to charity projects supported by CompassionArt.
