The Wheatsheaf has always been ‘home turf’ for The Rumour. We’ve always liked that little room above the bar. It’s like a favourite coat – a bit past it and smells like it needs a good wash. Thanks to Jean and Carrie for not changing it too much after the departure of Joel.

The gig was intended to be a bit different too. We fancied trying out a few new tracks on the people of the ‘sheaf. They went down well, we think, and we’re adding them to our growing repertoire. ‘Hold the Line’ and ‘Never Too Much’ went down a storm – thanks to the people who told us what they liked and didn’t like about the gig. We’ve got to admit that the gig didn’t go as smoothly as we expected – there were a couple of cock-ups and a couple of issues with the overall song-style – but for a first blast….. We loved it!!

Thanks to all that came along to the gig. Your presence keeps us going – without you, we’d be playing to ourselves. Next time, we’ll be back with something bigger, brighter and ultimately better/louder/funkier (delete as appropriate).

Until next time —-

Spencer and The Rumour
